Where you'll find friendly locals, many inspiring artist, and people with a natural sense for the simple joys of life. We're starting with Humboldt County, the birth place of Rhapsodic Global. Named after the German Naturalist and explorer, Alexander Von Humboldt. The first European record of Humboldt is by the Spanish in 1775, though no others records exist until 1849.
Many people live in Humboldt County for the rural location small town feeling, and of course Redwood and Six Rivers National Forrest Parks. Originally inhabited by Native tribes; including the Wiyot, Yurok, Hupa, Karuk, Chilula, Whilkut, and the Eel River Athapaskan peoples, including the Wailaki, Mattole and Nongatl.. Loggers settled to cut down Redwood Trees, and then eventually people started to come from San Francisco after the 60's and 70's.
Now it is also home to students who go to College of the Redwoods in Eureka, and Humboldt State University in Arcata. Boasting more artist per capita than anywhere else in the state, and representing that fact with regular community events. You'll find Mom and Pop businesses in nearly every town of Northern California, and Humboldt is no exception.
