This local newspaper and web news site is so local that their about page is a guide for submitting articles, which focus on local happenings in Humboldt County. What began as The Arcata Eye eventually transformed into the Mad River Union, but many of us remember the similar print styles being shared around Arcata for many years. Select Local even when reading the news friends, as nobody can share what’s happening at home quite like your family and neighbors!

RhapsodicGlobal.org is a private membership association that offers tools for supporting local economies. This online community board is just one example of the tools we provide. We’re building these for places all over the country right now.

I’ve taken it upon myself to leave home and seek other places who might want to utilize our network. Our site isn’t perfect but it is the only thing out there looking out for communities in this way, and in my travels I am finding that we’re definitely needed.

All over the country, communities are discovering that they need to work together to represent their culture and compete with corporate America. Humboldt County saw that decades ago, and it’s my hope that our site can become a resource for communities who might also want to come visit or patron our locally made goods.

You’ve inspired me to build this project. We encourage responsible…

Times in the past, I’ve been able to get around YouTube’s commercials using this site. I’m now using Music Player from the App Store, but it does not seem to want to play this particular playlist. Let’s see if we can get away with it here.

Welcome to our group Los Angeles County, California ! A space for us to connect and share with each other. Start by posting your thoughts, sharing media, or creating a poll.

I love this place, we are so blessed to have access to herbal remedies and the knowledge base of this local establishment! Truly not many places in the US have such access, give thanks! https://moonriseherbs.com/

The annual Humboldt Obon Festival will be held at the Creamery District in Arcata. There will be a Buddhist priest to bless the Festival and share the stories and traditions of Obon, an altar to honor our ancestors, food vendors (Asian and Pacific Islander cuisine), children’s activities, music, Bon Dancing, and more. HAPI (Humboldt Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity) is the organizing sponsor, but many people from the community have come together to brainstorm and plan our first Obon Festival. It has been an exciting process with many fond memories of Obon shared.

Fun for everyone!  Food, Music, Dancing, Crafts.
